St. Augustine of Hippo and his value for education and women empowerment
Today as I was seated I was inspired by a young writer who was writing an article for a competition. What has stricken me about him was he was 16 years of age and he was writing about the importance of education and one of the people that he looked up to was The Saint Augustine of Hippo.
His name is George, A form two student in Lenana High School who has been the source of my inspiration today.
The Saint Augustine of Hippo was a pagan who was well learned about different doctrines and later decided to convert to Christianity.
He was a great advocate of critical thinking skills. He was a great teacher of reason and he greatly admired Cicero and he reffed to him as the great master of Roman eloquence, he enjoyed playful debates with his students and companions.
He had a unique passion for education and he equated education to happiness.
He reffed to learning as a process that results to either knowledge or ignorance and said a wise man would appreciate the knowledge of an educated mind.
He believed that all people needed to be educated irrespective of their class, age , race, sex and he certainly believed that there were no elitists and that all people were to be given equal opportunities to pursue education.
His letters to the Nuns of Hippo determines his equal status for women with respect to education, therefore everyone should respect and hence everyone should be entitled to education irrespective of their age, sex or gender. Education should be for all

Things you should think of before going to and during a wild ladies night out
They're things that you should think of before going and after a wild ladies night out.
Only leave the house with the ladies/friends you trust
First, you should be cautious about the clique of ladies that you go out with. Have you ever gone out with them before, ask yourself if you are completely comfortable in going out with them and if you have been out with them ; ask yourself 'how did it turn out 'You can go out at night, have fun , not necessarily drinking or getting drunk ,dancing and sharing good time with your other ladies whom you are so sure they would take good care of you and that you would take good care of them which sometimes can literally mean you carrying them home .
Some , you will go out with them and they will allow you to do what you want to do, which sometimes is not a bad thing, but they should judge what you do and stop you from doing what you might regret later because all actions have consequences.
Others would not, claiming that everyone of them is an adult, they are responsible and they are clearly aware of what you are doing and because of this you might end up getting spiked or leaving with a stranger which we know that it always does not end up in a good way. Therefore never go out with ladies who would never take care of you when going out, you better stay in the house
Always carry an extra pair of clothes that are comfortable
Always carry an extra pair of clothes other than the ones you are wearing preferably a pair of jeans, a pair of flat shoes , a t-shirt and a jacket and put it at the back seat of your car. This will be of help later when it gets cold or when you are tired of walking with your heels.Be aware of who will be getting you back home
Another important thing is having someone who you are certain that they would get you back home, somebody that is sober should be your designated driver or preferably you and your girls can take a cab back home to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol or drugsAlways have extra cash in your purse
A little extra cash in your purse when going out can come in handy when you run short of gas, your car breaks down and all other emergenciesNever leave your drink unattended
Never leave your drink unattended or to the people you do not trust, or when you leave your drink unattended; ensure you get another drink in order to avoid being druggedAvoid getting very drunk
Do not have much to drink so that you are able to have better judgement when doing things and also this contributes to you reaching home safe and soundNever attempt to leave with a stranger
Never leave your girls and leave with a stranger because something might happen to you and no one would be accountable, try as much as you can to stick together with your friends so that you don't get lost tooNever forget that you have work the next morning
Going out is always fun but do not be carried out in the moment, try to get home early to prepare for the next day so that you would wake up early and organize things in preparation for that dayAvoid the walk of shame
Ensure that you get home in time to avoid the walk of shamePark your car at the right spot even if it means paying for the spot
Lastly, ensure that you park you car at the right spot so that it can not be towed and ensure you do not misplace or lose your car keys so that you can be sure of having a means of getting back homehttps://www.google.com/search?q=ladies+wearing+a+pair+of+heels&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAWoVChMIpKvj74qNyAIVjbKACh1_5QlU&biw=1024&bih=657

Breast cancer and cervical cancer are one of the common chronic diseases in the rise among women today. They are malignant, abnormal growing cells that develop rapidly affecting the nearby tissues and organs.
Women have to often visit the doctor to check on their reproductive health but we find that some of them do not have access to this facilities
Due to this problems most hospitals developed programs to reach this women like free cancer screening in most hospitals in order to save lives. Despite all this women still find it hard to go for this services because they are scared of the outcome.
The first time I visited a screening center was scary. I never anticipated for the outcome because I knew there was a fifty- fifty chance that I had cancer or not though I decided to take the text because if it turned out negative I would know how to take better care of myself but if it turned out to be positive I would be positive and try to live with the disease and try to take proper action like taking medication or going for chemotherapy.
Most women gone through the experience of being diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer , received proper medication or have gone through surgery for the removal of the tumor and they are still alive today.
We should embrace the results no matter the outcome and also as a society we should support those who have been diagnosed with cancer , show them our undying love and care for them.

We also should take care of our nutrition, exercise regularly, avoid stress and live a healthy life in order to improve on our health and keep these cancers at bay. Make the doctor your best friend and frequently go for the cancer screening .
Lastly , don't forget to support other women ; young or old who have breast or cervical cancer, be their pillar and help them go through the medication with courage and strength.

Pink nation254 is me and it is also all the women and children out there.
Born and raised in Kenya, I decided to start this blog , Pink nation 254, to talk about my daily experiences, to inspire and talk about what women and children through all walks of life , talk about what inspires them , give them a voice and also give them hope to be strong individuals
I have a passion for art , fashion and culture . This would be the basis of my blog in that I would be talking about global fashion, travel, culture ...try to promote cross cultural designs that would be used to sensitize women on breast and cervical cancer awareness and through this I would like to promote the voice of women that is always unheard and also to inspire them.
I would also use this blog to promote children's right which is basically education and look for ways to empower them
This is also for the hardworking, career women out there who are already making it and those who have already made it because I am one of those women who are trying to make things better out there and make a change.
